Books
The History of South Mountain Restoration Center: The Transitional Years 1965-1990
South Mountain Restoration Center, November 2017
This book is a follow-up to The History of South Mountain Restoration Center, 1901-2001. That book traced the entire first century of this remarkable institution. This books covers more in-depth the Center’s transition from a tuberculosis hospital to a restoration center.
Unlike the original, I do not have extra copies of this book. For information on obtaining a copy, please contact the Center directly.
The History of the South Mountain Restoration Center, 1901 – 2001
Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, May 2001
I wrote this book for the centennial celebration of the Restoration Center in 2001. It is a remarkable organization located in a striking setting. I had worked there during summers and semester breaks while in college, and it was an honor to be asked to write the first book-length history.
This book is currently out of print. In the past, people have charged as much as $230 on Amazon for a copy of this book. As much as I love my book, it’s not worth that much! From time to time I get extra copies to sell for $20. If you have any questions about purchasing this book, please contact me.
